Varkha qualified from Queen Mary, University of London, in 2018. Following graduation, she undertook postsin general practice and oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Her passion for gold standard dentistry was reflected by the numerous accolades she won during these posts: Best Clinical Audit, Best Key Skill, Best Coursework and Portfolio, Best Case Presentation (runner up), and Health Education England Regional Dental Core Trainee Presentation Prize. In 2021, Varkha was accepted onto the four-year periodontology training pathway at Guy’s Hospital, London. Here she spends 3 days a week treating complex periodontal cases referred by dentists in the London area and is mentored by some of the world’s leading periodontists.

In addition, Varkha has an active role in periodontal research which she thoroughly enjoys. With a keen interest on the effects of periodontitis on systemic health, she has launched a ‘Periodontitis and Diabetes’ campaign. This project was recognised nationally winning the British Society of Periodontology Audit Award and is now being supported by a world-renowned oral health company. Varkha’s enthusiasm in this field has led to her being invited to lecture internationally.

Furthermore, she has published articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the British Dental Journal and Dental Update, on systemic health and lifestyle factors and their roles in periodontitis. Ensuring her patients receive the most advanced and evidence-based care, Varkha attends conferences nationally and internationally and is an active member of the British Society of Periodontology.

From day 1 with Ascent Dental Care, Malvern, they have been superb! The whole team is friendly, helpful, empathic, calming, holistic, professional, and a high-tech practice! I have previously feared going to the Dentist however my anxiety melted away within minutes of talking to Jas. Everything was explained to me prior to intervention and also during it, there were no surprises and no pain! I felt reassured and comforted throughout the whole process, and all my concerns were validated, no matter how small. They have 0% payment plans for treatments, which is incredibly helpful in this cost of living crisis. Now the tables have turned as I now look forward to going to the Dentist instead of dreading it. Highly recommend this practice, if you have a fear of dentists, then fear no more.

Great service from this pratice, had composite bonding done by james and he couldnt of done a better job! Also had a retainer made and got it the next day thanks to the dental nurse emily. Can highly reccomend this pratice!

All of the staff are lovely and make you feel comfortable. I enquired about a root canal and they managed to fit me in within a week of originally calling. Within the space of a couple of weeks I had been seen and booked in for my root canal. Nassir and his assistant made me feel very comfortable in the whole process. I would 100% recommend this dentist.

So pleased with our experience at Ascent Dental. My son was terrified to go to the dentist previously due to a bad experience but Georgia put his mind at rest by going through the plan with him step by step and taking the time to understand his needs.
